A crown can be made out of zirconia, ceramic, porcelain or gold. Crowns can help to restore and improve both your appearance and your function. Crowns are used to correct defects in your teeth and make them both strong and beautiful.
A crown is like a cap that goes over the top of a tooth that has been damaged or otherwise structurally compromised. It can be used to strengthen and protect a tooth from further damage. What’s more, a properly crafted and installed crown will be virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth. Unlike a denture, a crown is permanently affixed in your mouth and you need not concern yourself with taking it out for cleaning or maintenance.
A bridge is similar to a crown in that it is constructed of material designed to exactly mimic your natural teeth in feel, performance, and appearance. However, it is usually used when one or more teeth are missing. Bridges can be used to repair damaged teeth as well as to permanently replace single or multiple missing teeth.
A bridge is permanently affixed to natural anchor teeth on either side of the area where you are missing a tooth or teeth. In many cases, we can use several dental implants as anchor “teeth” to hold the bridge.
